It was a cold spring day, and many bees were resting, unmoving, on a few bushes in the corner of our front yard. This was also the day that I attempted to get a similar shot of a fly that wasn't entirely dormant. Word of caution: flies are LOUD when they buzz right next to your head, especially when unexpected.

one time me and my brother caught a bee in a jar and put it in the freezer so it would fall asleep, then we took it out and he tied a string around it and flew it around for like 30 seconds before we freaked out and let it go haha.

we didnt do anything to hurt him, he was just freaked out. Bees dont die of the cold, they go into a hibernation.
