Red Bird

For *Jenna-Rose's Winter Wonderland contest.

***It won FIRST PLACE!!! It's the first time I've placed first!

My winter wonderland - to walk among the towering cedars laden with snow and have the ability to fly away with the redbirds to the pale winter sky.

I really love this one. Part of the contest rules were to use one of Jenna-Rose's stock photographs; when I saw this one, an idea similar to this final product immediately came to mind. Minus the birds. I wanted to make the person even smaller, with something large, like a dragon, there as well, to show how huge the trees were... Then I came up with this idea.

There's a reason why there are no footsteps leading up to the girl in red... she's a redbird as well.

I guess you could call the redbirds cardinals, but they aren't really the same... For one, I didn't reference any cardinal photographs, for another, I didn't reference any cardinal markings, and for last, I don't really want them to be cardinals. They're... different. Magical. Yeah.

The stock image came from Jenna-Rose's winter stock, specifically this one.

The girl and the birds were from my head... no references used.
